Hale Farm & Village, a living history museum of the Western Reserve Historical Society, is located on 90 acres with 32 historic structures, farm animals, heritage gardens, farming, and early American craft and trade demonstrations. The location is open for special programming and events through the month of March.
During the summer season at Hale Farm & Village, a wide variety of early American craft and trade demonstrations are on display. The site is home to a potter, a glassblower, a blacksmith, and broom makers, all depicting trades as they would have been in the 19th century. The beautiful gardens of Hale Farm & Village are visible symbols of InHale, a program designed to integrate history with the current emphasis on personal wellness and sustainability.
Hale Farm & Village is known regionally for its annual Civil War Reenactment, which takes place each August. The event recreates life as it was during America’s Civil War, complete with Union and Confederate camp sites, cavalry, and war-era merchants. In 2013, Hale Farm & Village received a Heritage Award from the Ohio Civil War 150th Advisory Committee to recognize its commemoration efforts.
